POSITION: HAND THERAPIST - OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Stratford
Temporary Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to work in the HPHA Hand Therapy program.

As a member of the Hand Therapy Program, the successful candidate will be a valued member caring for predominantly ambulatory patients with acute and/or complex musculoskeletal orthopedic conditions. Patients/workers in our programs present with conditions which include, but are not limited to tendon injuries/reconstructions, peripheral nerve injuries, fractures, and traumatic injuries to the upper extremity.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies and Professional Practice

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $34.18 to $47.38 per hour


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of a recognized accredited program and member of the college of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy

Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year clinical experience in an upper extremity program (hand, wrist, elbow), with knowledge and experience of fabricating custom splints
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with musculoskeletal/neurological injuries with protocols
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with upper extremity assessment and implementation of treatment plans

-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with static and dynamic splinting of the upper extremity
- Experience with inpatient service delivery is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices.

Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an interprofessional collaborative environment.
- Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem solving and innovation skills.
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.
- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development
- Appreciation of resource utilization.
- Computer skills, including Meditech, MS Office
